Terahertz Cyclotron Resonance Spectrometer

Dr. Darren Graham tells us about the development of the terahertz cyclotron resonance spectrometer at the Photon Science Institute, University of Manchester. Cyclotron resonance has been about since the 1960’s and the technique has led to the development of new semiconductor materials, producing light-emitting diodes and transistors. In order to perform the techniques, you need large scale facilities that have restricted time available. Dr. Darren Graham and his research group have developed a tabletop instrument that allows you to perform these experiments there and then without the need to schedule time in large scale facilities.

Watch our newest video to learn more about the challenges faced in developing this tabletop instrument and also the numerous benefits it can bring: https://youtu.be/POjB0gpDqEA
