Light the way…
Laser Quantum graduate, Alyssa Armstrong, describes her choice of careers in a science company, and defies the belief that a physics graduates’ only option is Research and Development. Having had the opportunity to move around Laser Quantum, Alyssa has held a variety of job roles, including: laser engineer, manufacturing devices; continuous improvement engineer, refining and developing individual laser components to streamline and boost manufacturing quality; and, now as a product lead, managing a team of 15-20 engineers. Alyssa realises that science companies don’t just offer research and development roles, although that is an option, but also a host of other roles to challenge anyone willing.
