Laser Quantum raises money for local charity through company bake sale
On 28th October, in celebration of Halloween, Laser Quantum held a ‘bake-off’ style competition between staff members to raise money for local charity, Wood Street Mission. Our members of staff impressed us with their baking skills, creating spooky cakes that not only looked great, but tasted great too. Our expert judges (Directors Steve Lane and Andy Charlton) tasted each of the entered cakes and agreed on the ‘Ghostly Graveyard’ entry as the winner. We also held a peer vote on the best looking cake, which went to the ‘The Ghost of Pumpkins Past’ entry. Thanks to all our staff who participated and donated, we raised a total of £164.50 for Wood Street Mission.
Wood Street Mission is a Manchester-based children’s charity which supports children and families living in poverty in the Manchester and Salford area by providing struggling families with clothes and food, and improve children’s life chances by promoting engagement in education. As a business that began in the Manchester area, it is fantastic to be able to give something back to the local community.
