Congratulations to our Laser Quantum author!
We would like to say congratulations to our own Dr. Matthew Cliffe who has recently published a text book. The ‘Longitudinally Polarised Terahertz Radiation for Relativistic Particle Acceleration’ titled book is available on Amazon; published by Springer Theses. Matthew completed his PhD at The University of Manchester in photon physics; during his PhD he developed terahertz radiation sources and diagnostic techniques for accelerator applications at Daresbury Laboratory. This book discusses the acceleration of charged particles with ultrafast terahertz electromagnetic radiation. It drives the way for new, and improves many aspects of current, accelerator applications. Key topics include; providing shorter electron bunches for ultrafast time-resolved pump-probe spectroscopy, enabling complex longitudinal profiles to be imparted onto charged particle bunches and significantly improving the ability to synchronise an accelerator to an external laser.
