Females for Physics
In October 2015, Laser Quantum started a project with Manchester High School for Girls to develop both women in physics and work with the community. The four students involved in the project visited Laser Quantum to see the various stages of manufacture and find areas for product improvement. The key aim is to aid manufacturing and the engineers performing the build tasks. The outcome of the visit was the idea to design and develop a cutting press for Indium. At the moment, they are designing the cutting press and assembling the necessary materials. The development and build stage will be completed at the upcoming residential later in January.
