EPSRC Summer School in Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Photonics
Laser Quantum is proud to be a sponsor of the Centre for Doctoral Training in Applied Photonics’ summer school for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Photonics. The event will take place at the University of St Andrews, Scotland, 16th – 23rd June 2018, an ideal opportunity for PhD/ EngD students and early career researchers (industrial and academic) looking to gain further insight into the Photonics industry.
Established in 2001, CDTAP are the UK’s longest running centre of doctoral training in photonics systems. Comprising 100 academic research groups in five universities, they work to deliver solutions to critical scientific and engineering problems and provide advanced technical and business training to future industrial research leaders.
The summer school features lectures and workshops from a wide variety of leading photonics innovators and entrepreneurs. In addition to the lecturers and workshops, there will be an opportunity for networking in an informal setting with lecturers and students; Mentoring to develop ideas and commercial awareness; Advice and training on how to fund ideas; Exposure to potential funders and sponsors and great social events, including a Scottish ceilidh.
