Visit Laser Quantum at Oxford Photonics Day
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] On the 5th May, Laser Quantum is exhibiting at Oxford Photonics Day, held at St Anne’s College, Oxford. The day will comprise of talks from invited speakers within the photonics industry presenting the latest research and developments, a poster session, and an industrial exhibition. Dr Justine Bentley will be on hand to answer any […]
Ultrafast optical sampling oscilloscope
In this ever advancing technology-led world, the dimensions of functional objects are decreasing and it is critical that scientists understand at both a micro and nanoscopic level the dynamics of the physical processes. The traditional method to understanding these processes is ultrafast optical time-domain spectroscopy (TDS) and various techniques within this method. Asynchronous optical sampling […]
Noncontact three-dimensional mapping of intracellular hydromechanical properties by Brillouin microscopy
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] Recent studies by G. Scarcelli et al. detail how our torus 532 is being used to develop a label free microscopy technique based on Brillouin scattering, capable of imaging intracellular processes with vastly improved optical resolution. Intracellular processes such as the interaction between the liquid and solid phases in the cytoplasm have a critical […]
Laser Quantum employee competes in company cycling event.
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] We would like to wish Oliver Prochnow, responsible for R&D at Laser Quantum – Venteon in Germany, the best of luck with his training for the German road cycling championship ‘company-facilitated sports activities’ in May. Oliver is a keen cyclist and in his spare time manages a group of 8 riders as they travel […]
Measurement of two-photon excitation spectra of fluorescence proteins with nonlinear Fourier-transform spectroscopy
Work published by Hashimoto et al., from Riken Advanced Science Institute, Japan, makes use of our venteon ultra laser (formally Known as Venteon OS) from Laser Quantum as part of their work into ‘Measurement of two-photon excitation spectra of fluorescence proteins with nonlinear Fourier-transform spectroscopy.’ Biological imaging of live cells is an important part of […]
EFTF Highlights
Last week we exhibited at The European Frequency and Time Forum in York for the European launch of the taccor comb; our first 1GHz complete frequency comb. The exhibition welcomed a niche scientific community of researchers and students from all over the world and the taccor comb certainly attracted many people to our stand, sparking discussions about solutions for frequency comb applications. In celebration of the launch, we hosted a cake reception at our booth and a prize draw competition to win a tablet!
Laser Quantum is participating in the Great Manchester Run
Here at Laser Quantum, we encourage charity events throughout the year to raise money for local and national charities to help grow the community spirit within our company and foster goodwill. Following on from last year, Laser Quantum has put together a team of thirty keen runners divided into two teams of young pups and […]
