Laser Quantum hosts work experience student

We, Laser Quantum, have recently hosted a student from Manchester High School for Girls to gain work experience from different departments within the company; she has written a blog post about her time here so far.

Hi! My name is Lilian Crascall-Kennedy. I am a year 11 student and I am spending this week doing work experience at Laser Quantum. I have always had a passion for Physics and getting the opportunity to work here has been really exciting. Over the week so far, I have shadowed staff from many different areas in the company to gain understanding of how Laser Quantum functions. I have worked amongst others in production, dressed in white lab coats, full face masks and hair nets (which was really exciting); in sales and marketing, where I learnt about advertising and exhibitions such as the Ultrafast Phenomena; and in service, where I learnt how the staff help customers with their products.

Overall, it has been a really interesting and fun experience, but probably the best part was meeting all the staff and seeing the friendly community that has been established here. I am extremely glad for this opportunity, so thank you Laser Quantum for the experience you have given me!
