Company | About Us
Our passion for lasers began when our founders met at Manchester University (UK) during their PhDs in the early 1990s and established Laser Quantum in 1994. Since then, we have experienced an exciting journey from a design and development company to full, industrialised manufacturing for our customers world-wide and to some of the world's best known blue chip companies.
Our workforce now has a huge collective experience that spans both research and industry. We specialise in innovative, high-quality diode-pumped solide-state lasers and we hold a number of important patents in the field. Our product portfolio now holds more that 30 product types from wavelengths from the UV to the infrared and a wide range of powers.
During the first part of 2000, an important change began to take place here; our lasers began to change shape (largely internally) to allow them to be qualified for aerospace applications. The demands placed upon components for such applications is enormous - but severeal years on, many of our lasers can now withstand extreme temperature and vibration shocks, including 24g and -50 Celsius! Such design brilliance has been cross-fertilised to all our lasers, so now everyone can experience robust, quality design.
Our mission statement holds customer satisfaction at its heart. We achieve this through care and attention being paid at every stage of the sales, manufacture, delivery and after-sales support and, ultimately, through the quality of the systems we produce. We care about what our customers think of us and our products and we always welcome any feedback and visits at any time.
A key challenge for any company is to grow and remain flexible, simultaneously. The great variation in system specifications required by the research community and the repeatability required by the industrial community can be the source of conflict in many manufacturing environments. We, however, have found that these two demands are essential for our business since it is the excitement of the products for the reseach community that drives the future, high volume lasers for industry.
